I, like many people have ideas and thoughts that pop into my head.
I have decided to write down (the ones that are publishable and legal), so I don’t forget them and they may be of assistance to you.
Ok so this is a bit of a puzzle to me and an area I have never really understood, but here goes. Work/Life Balance? The statement has no real meaning does it, do you stop living when you go to work, is work not part of your life?
Can I propose Life Balance as a better explanation and that the other bit of life includes relaxation and rest.
I do like the power of 3 as it also means that I can give equal time in each day to each part of my life; 8 hours to work, 8 hours to rest and 8 hours to relaxation. Now most of us get this concept and I have found when I broadly stick to it I am more productive, happier and have more energy. In the times when it goes out of kilter for a while, I notice I lose all the positives and my life is out of balance (this includes when I don’t have enough work to do).
One of the positive things to come out of the lockdown for me is the realisation that if I divide my time into thirds and broadly stick to them life is far better.
I now check each of these aspects to see how I am doing and what changes I need to make (if any).
