In the Moment

We don’t make objective decisions

I, like many people have ideas and thoughts that pop into my head.  I have decided to write down (the ones that are publishable and legal), so I don’t forget them and they may be of assistance to you.

We all like to think that the decisions we make are fair and reasonable and love to think that most of our decisions are objective.  I believe none of us have ever made an objective decision in our lives. Because people decide the criteria against which decisions are made and we distort the world to fit our reality.

This is not a bad thing it is simply a real thing, understanding this may allow us to see the world in a greater variety of ways and increase our options for the decision we take.

Knowing this also means that when people don’t accept a decision and say that it is not fair they are right in their reality.  When making a decision consider three things:

Your Purpose – what do you want out of it

Your Intent – what are you trying to make happen

Your Emotional State – how calm do you feel

The higher your emotions the more subjective your decision will be and the greater the distortion.
