I, like many people have ideas and thoughts that pop into my head.
I have decided to write down (the ones that are publishable and legal), so I don’t forget them and they may be of assistance to you.
There are lots of challenges to face during the COVID-19 lockdown. It is easy for me to focus on all the negatives and find myself feeling like I am out of control. My lockdown has its challenges, which when added up are unique to me, but I have found that in the past seven weeks I have developed new ways of looking at my world and it has helped me find a new sense of myself and my direction.
For the last few years, life has felt like a river rapids ride, sometimes exciting, sometimes scary, but most of the time the river controlled what happened to me, not the other way. About 18 months ago I started to realise this wasn’t good for me, it was not helping, but what could I do?
I started small, finding logs to hold onto (behaviours I could change), and slowly I was able to influence my direction, slightly at first, but with increasing impact as time passed.
I have found other things I can do and change, until recently (during lockdown) I made my way to the bank of my river and was able to admire it for what it was, a raging force of nature, which while I can never control I can choose where I want to jump in and where I don’t.
