Oak veneer or solid oak?

I, like many people have ideas and thoughts that pop into my head.

I have decided to write down (the ones that are publishable and legal), so I don’t forget them and they may be of assistance to you.

I am not sure this is something you can ever completely know for yourself, and it probably needs several people to confirm for you. There are people you come across who carry a veneer of playing the game. People who have a veneer use the right words and even sometimes demonstrate the actions, but when push comes to shove the veneer cracks, and you see the ‘real person’ behind the polished finish.

I think I have some veneers to deal with different aspects of my life, these always require me to act in a way that is usually against my purpose, intent and beliefs and have cracked at times, which is never good.

I want to develop my solid oak (other woods are available) persona for all situations. It means challenging my habits and always looking at my intent; this will be easy or that I will ever ultimately achieve it.

Veneers are a safety blanket, and others can see them very clearly whether they are used as a leader, in diversity, as a partner or as a friend. When people ask challenging questions about the aspects of my life or my behaviour, this will be an indication that I may have a veneer rather than showing solid oak.
