I have decided to write down (the ones that are publishable and legal), so I don’t forget them and they may be of assistance to you.
Having spent the last 30 years in and around the people development space, I have seen the ‘latest thing’ after a few years to get reasons why the ‘latest thing’ isn’t the ‘latest thing’ because this is the latest thing!
Management By Objectives, Competency Frameworks, NLP, Mindfulness, Emotional Intelligence, Employee Satisfaction Surveys, 360 Feedback and many more. So what can we learn from all of this, what should we take away when the next ‘latest thing’ arrives?
That it is not a Silver Bullet.
There isn’t one answer; there aren’t four answers that give you an overall solution to everything.
That one person’s success will be another person’s failure.
Don’t look for Silver Bullets the answer to your problem tied up nicely in a neat package. Instead look for the grains of gold that work for you, the statements of ideas that make sense.
Grains of gold make nuggets and nuggets can be used to create beautiful jewellery.
