Cult of Self – Marie Antoinette Syndrome
I have decided to write down (the ones that are publishable and legal), so I don’t forget them and they may be of assistance to you.
A couple of observations over the past week have made me think about the world and how I and others see it. I am pretty sure that I have my Marie Antionette moments but what I’m hoping to do is reduce them by being more aware when I have them!
What do I mean?
Marie Antionette, the wife of Louis XV and Queen of France, supposedly said of the revolting peasants “Let them eat cake.”
So Marie Antionette Syndrome comes to make broad sweeping statements about a significant part of the population without having any knowledge of the people in that group.
It is effortless for us to sit in our palaces in the judgment of others and decree what is right and what is wrong.
So two things I am going to try to improve on:
Do my research both for and against the position I want to take.
When criticised check my facts.
Fess up when I am in the wrong.
