I, like many people have ideas and thoughts that pop into my head.
I have decided to write down (the ones that are publishable and legal), so I don’t forget them and they may be of assistance to you.
I always want there to be an answer to a problem and to make things better. It doesn’t matter what the topic is, I want a solution. There are always people who have set themselves up as the expert (Sperts) or specialists (Alists) without too much to warrant that title but who claim to have “The Solution”.
Of course, some people do have an in-depth understanding of an area, and the world would be in a far worse place without them. But here is the rub; people who have in-depth knowledge can be blind to possibilities and opportunities. Experience can mean missing new ways or being overprotective of the old ways of doing things.
I intend to be constantly curious about things and always try to consider other options and not simply revert to lazy methods as I have done in the past.
So when I meet someone, and they suggest they are:
A Specialist (Alists’), an Expert (Sperts’), have an Ology (Ologists’) or they are a Guru – (Gnus’), I will listen and remember they may have some useful insights but they will never be the be-all and end-all.
